The Sound and The Furry’s Favorites of 2012List will continue over the coming week. This will include favorite albums, EPs, tracks, videos, and my pick for “Band to Watch”. The list will culminate with a 22-track Favorites of 2012 downloadable mix featuring a track from each of the incredibly amazing bands on this list.
Check out my favorite Cobalt track “You Left Your Sweater…” below, and if anyone is gonna be in the Washington DC area Sunday night (8/10), y’all should join me at DC9 for a superfun time with Cobalt & the Hired Guns and Orchard Wall - I’ll be there with my beard on!
Matthias Frey of Sweet Sweet Moon. His EP Pomidou is out now on Siluh Records, and he’s also got two new singles out - “Smoke Up” and a cover of Beirut’s “My Night With The Prostitute From Marseille”.
Kyle Morton of Typhoon. Their brand new EP A New Kind of House dropped earlier this week on Tender Loving Empire! Paste Magazine recently named Typhoon one of the 20 SXSW Bands You Might Not Know (But Should).
Logan Kroeber of Dodos. Their upcoming album No Color arrives on 3/15 on Frenchkiss Records and will feature heavily alt-country it-girl and New PornographerNeko Case!
Dave Hartley of Nightlands and The War on Drugs. Nightlands’ debut Forget the Mantra and The War on Drugs’ Future Weather both dropped in late 2010 on Secretly Canadian!
